Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 13, 2026
🔒 Privacy-First Principle: PulseHabit is designed with an offline-first architecture. All habits, routines, streaks, and progress records reside locally on your device by default. We do not show ads, we do not track you across apps, and we never sell your personal or health data.
1. Information We Collect
PulseHabit collects only the minimal data necessary to help you track habits and celebrate personal consistency:
- Local Device Data: Habits you create (titles, categories, schedules, targets, completion timestamps, and streaks) are saved locally in private app storage via Capacitor Preferences.
- Google Account Information (Optional Cloud Sync): If you choose to sign in with Google for cloud backup, we collect your name and email address through Firebase Authentication to securely identify and synchronize your account.
- Health Connect Data (Read-Only & Optional): With your explicit runtime consent, PulseHabit connects to Android Health Connect to read daily fitness metrics and automatically record habit completions:
- Steps: Daily walking step counts.
- Distance: Daily walking/running distance (measured in miles).
- Sleep: Daily sleep duration sessions.
- Active Calories: Daily active calories burned.
PulseHabit never writes, edits, or deletes records in Health Connect, and never requests access to medical or sensitive biometric data.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used strictly to provide core habit tracking features:
- To record habit completions, compute active streaks, and generate visual monthly and annual activity heatmaps.
- To enable optional cloud backup and sync across devices via Google Cloud Firestore.
- To deliver an optional weekly progress recap email every Sunday via Resend to celebrate your achievements.
- To provide home screen widgets with instant progress updates.
3. Third-Party Services & Integrations
PulseHabit integrates trusted cloud providers for optional online functionality:
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Cloud Firestore): Manages secure user login and encrypted habit backups for users who opt in. Cloud documents are strictly governed by security rules ensuring only you can access your data.
- Android Health Connect: Facilitates read-only sync of activity metrics directly on your Android device.
- Google Gemini API (Server-Side Cloud Functions): Powers optional AI habit brainstorming. User prompts are processed server-side via Cloud Functions without exposing API keys, and are not used to train AI models.
- Resend (resend.dev): Sends transactional weekly progress recap emails directly to users who opt into cloud sync.
4. Advertising and Data Selling
Zero Ads & Zero Data Selling: PulseHabit does not contain third-party advertising frameworks, tracking SDKs, or data brokers. We never sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal or health data to any third party under any circumstances.
5. Data Storage, Security & Retention
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and Google Cloud / Resend uses industry-standard TLS 1.2/1.3 (HTTPS) encryption.
- Local Reset Control: You can purge all local habits, cached metrics, and preferences instantly at any time via Settings > Reset App Data.
- Cloud Account Deletion: If you use cloud sync and wish to permanently delete your account and all associated Firestore records, visit our Account & Data Deletion Page or email us at epicappsdev@gmail.com. We will permanently wipe all cloud data within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
PulseHabit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal or health information from individuals under 13.
